We are delighted to share that our land at Chalksole Farm hosts some very special neighbours; Dormice!
This is significant as Dormice are a protected species due to habitat loss causing declining numbers. At Biodiversity and Habitat Solutions, we are committed to reversing this decline through targeted conservation and high quality BNG habitat creation. In order to support these adorable creatures, we are purposefully planting 5000 native trees in our habitat bank.
This project will establish a native woodland corridor linking two SSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) woodlands, helping reunite isolated dormouse colonies. The new habitat will offer essential food during foraging and safe shelter for hibernation, supporting their survival.
By creating this vital connection, we are helping dormice thrive and strengthening local biodiversity for future generations.
Our off-site BNG units are not just numbers - they are living, breathing ecosystems designed to meet planning requirements and deliver measurable ecologial uplift.
If you're working on a development project that impacts biodiversity, choosing off-site BNG units from providers like Biodiversity and Habitat Solutions means you can:
